After You’re Hired – Then What? Once you’ve been offered and accepted a position with Action, the next step is training. The length and number of stops on the linehaul / peddle route you’ll be
operating determines the amount of training required to properly perform your job to the customer’s satisfaction. Most drivers are well-trained and ready to strike out on their own after multiple
training routes. New drivers can always obtain additional training from their supervisor should the need arise.
What Will You Be Driving? Action Expediting takes great pride in supplying our drivers with late-model, well- maintained equipment from third-party, full-service lease providers (the average age of our equipment is less than 24 months). We work with some of the largest vendors in the nation to ensure that our equipment is safe and always road-worthy, and to guarantee that you’ll be up and running as soon as possible should a breakdown occur.
In addition, drivers are issued a Nextel phone with DirectConnect and GPS capabilities.
Medical Benefits Action Expediting offers medical, dental and life coverage for it’s employees through Aetna healthcare. The cost of the plan is partially offset by the company. The total
out-of-pocket expense depends on the number of family members included on the driver’s policy (currently a single driver with full coverage pays $27.12 per week).
Quarterly Safety / Performance Bonus Program Each quarter, Action is pleased to award safety / performance bonuses to our deserving drivers. It’s our way of saying “thanks” for a job well done, for ensuring that we operate with the public’s safety in mind and that our customers are taken care of each a every day. Bonus eligibility is determined by longevity with the company and drivers are paid based on criteria ranging from customer service to safety and compliance.
Referral Bonus Program Many of our drivers have been with the company for several years or more. Being with a company you enjoy working for usually means
you’d like to tell your peers about your experience. With this in mind, Action Expediting offers a $1000 referral bonus to drivers that successfully recruit new drivers. The first $500 is paid after the new driver completes 30 days of satisfactory employment and the remainder is paid in increments of $250 – after 90 days and 180 days. This program has been most effective in hiring and retaining excellent drivers – as well as putting some extra money in our existing employees’ hands.
Dress Code
Action requires that all of our drivers maintain a neat and clean appearance at all times. Hair must be collar length, beards trimmed and shirts tucked in.
No Rider Policy Action Expediting, Inc. does not allow passengers to be transported in company vehicles.
